Refreshing Tamarind Juice – A Tangy Twist

Making tamarind juice is like capturing sunshine in a glass—sweet, tangy, and packed with vibrant energy. Tamarind is excellent for brain health, specifically the pineal gland, which I call your first, eye or others may call your third eye. This is the gland that is responsible for:

Regulates Circadian Rhythms

The pineal gland produces melatonin, a hormone responsible for regulating sleep-wake cycles

First Eye: Your physical eyes are used to scam your environment. Your spiritual eye, which is your pineal gland is for scanning the environment which you cannot see with the naked eye this Glen allows you to see beneath the surface. The pineal gland also has rods and cones just as our physical eyes do!

Ingredients

1 cup fresh tamarind pods (or 1/2 cup tamarind pulp—whichever you have on hand) I used the whole box.

2 cups water (life’s elixir)

2 tablespoons of natural sweetener (I love coconut sugar or dates!) it really doesn’t need sweetener! Try it before you add any sweetener🫶🏽

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional, but trust me—magic)

A pinch of sea salt (optional, but it elevates the flavors)

 key limes (about 4)

Instructions

1. Channel Your Inner Alchemist:

Crack open the tamarind pods, revealing the sticky, earthy pulp inside. If you’re using pre-packed tamarind pulp, give yourself a little extra time to say, “Thank you, convenience!”

2. Soak and Soften:

Place the tamarind pulp in a bowl and pour 2 cups of warm water over it. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.

3. Extract the Essence:

Roll up your sleeves and get hands-on. Mash and squeeze the tamarind until it melts into the water. (Pro tip: This part is oddly therapeutic.) You’ll end up with a rich, golden-brown liquid that’s full of life.

4. Strain the Goodness:

Pour the mixture through a fine strainer into a larger bowl or pitcher. Use a spoon to press the pulp, coaxing out every last drop of tangy delight. Don’t rush this—it’s all part of the ritual.

5. Balance the Flavor:

Stir in the rest of the water and add your sweetener of choice, adjusting to taste. If you’re feeling bold, toss in a pinch of sea salt and a splash of vanilla extract. It’s the little things that make all the difference.

6. Cool and Serve:

Pour your tamarind elixir over ice, sit back, and savor the refreshing tang. Feel free to garnish with a lime wedge or a sprig of mint for that extra wow factor.
